I’m Kurt Dowswell. I build things with AI, ship them, break them, fix them, and write about the whole messy process.

By day I lead AI Services at Highspring. By night (and early morning, and weekends) I’m shipping side projects. ResumAI started as a “what if” experiment—now it saves thousands of hours monthly across 50+ recruitment and staffing offices. PortraitSmith.ai is another one that escaped the sandbox.

In 2024, Wiley published my book Programming with GitHub Copilot. Hardest thing I’ve ever done—and I’ve done some hard things. Night after night until it was real. Wouldn’t trade the experience.

When I’m not building, I’m chasing a single-digit handicap, photographing whatever bird will hold still, or attending concerts with my wife Paige. Our dog Albus manages my calendar and has very strong opinions about work-life balance.
